“One Accord”
I’m a young adult going through life
Like all the others I’m going through strife
I’m just trying to do the best I can
Grow up and be a man
I don’t take girls out on dates
When the weekend comes I don’t stay out late
I don’t watch movies or TV
My friends are no longer here to see
When it’s hot I don’t go to beaches or the pool
I no longer even have time for school
I’ve left mom and dad back at home
Everything is gone that I've ever known
I work all the daylong
I can’t call in sick when yesterday was too strong
I go straight through the holidays
Sundays through Saturdays
People yell and throw things at me
I’m the last person most people want to see
I get sent out in the shine or rain
I go to work even in pain
The day starts just past dawn
I go out and take this world head on
I’m out here with my sisters and my brothers
We try to go out and help so many others
We don’t do it for the fame
We never ever feel ashamed
We stand for what is right
We work so hard to spread this great light
We do it for a Friend
Who's with us until the very end
We all knew the immense sacrifice
And yet were all willing to pay the price
We all chose to do what we do
Because we all know that it’s true
We don’t worry what people say
We just go ahead and lead the way
Take things just as they come
It will never stop until it’s done
Life is but a great big test
We’ll attempt to rise above the rest
For Him we have given our lives
We look to Him with unwavering eyes
I will stand amongst the front line
I’ll shall be there time after time
I'll seek to make my parents proud
I’ll make certain my voice is clear and loud
We all go forth in one accord
Because we are all servants of our Lord
