"The Great Fall"

Flat on my back
Looking up to the sky
Dust settling around me
With a tear in my eye
Body bent and broken
Full of pain and aches
Laying there breathless
All due to the mistake
I promised my self
It wouldn’t happen again
Yet here I lay
After being pulled right in
With flashing lights
And all of the signs
Not able to stop
As it grabbed hold of my mind
Those unparalleled eyes
Forced me to a trance
Left me standing breathless
With out having a chance
All caution from the past
Simply erased by a smile
With out question
I was to plunge to this unfortunate trial
Pulled to the edge
By the string to my heart
With my recurring history
I should’ve ran from the start
Instead I left my self open
Not thinking with my head
To either be caught
Or left broken instead
How exciting and great
It is as you fall
for the fall doesn’t hurt
Does not hurt at all
As you come through the clouds
And can soon see the ground
Where the person should be standing
There’s no one to be found
all your hopes and your wishes
are quickly then battered
all that’s to come next
is for your heart to be shattered
time after time
I have come to crash land
Why this always happen
I shall never understand
With my body running on empty
How much more can I take
Praying the next will be the last
For my wounded hearts sake
